Instructions for Radiology Exams

Please call CCMC Hospital Registration at 545-9220 with any questions.
- Intravenous Pyelogram (IVP)
Newborn: 2 oz. of formula or breast milk is permissible up to 1 hour prior to the exam.
Under 1 year: No food or liquids 2 hours prior to the exam.
One year and over: No food or liquids 3 hours prior to the exam.
- Voiding Cystourethrogram (VCUG)
All ages: no restrictions.
- Renal Ultrasound (RUS)
All ages: no restrictions.
- Bladder Ultrasound (BUS)
3 – 6 years: Drink 10-12 oz. of fluid 1 hour prior to the exam.
7-12 years: Drink 16-24 oz. 1 hour prior to the exam.
12 years and older: Drink 32 oz. 1 hour prior to the exam.
If your insurance company requires a referral, it is your responsibility to obtain
one from your primary care doctor prior to your appointment. We cannot be responsible
for charges not covered if your insurance company does not authorize your child’s
visit or we have not been advised of your current insurance requirements.

We no longer participate with Healthnet Healthy Options or Preferred One Medicaid.

Our office will contact you within 2-4 weeks with the results of your child's
x rays.
At that time, follow-up instructions will be given.
If you cannot make this appointment please call our Radiology Department to cancel and reschedule.
