FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 20, 2007 "FIFTH ANNUAL 102.9 DRC-FM RADIOTHON BENEFITING CONNECTICUT CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER TAKES PLACE LABOR DAY WEEKEND" HARTFORD, Conn.— The 102.9 DRC-FM Fifth Annual Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon benefiting Connecticut Children’s Medical Center hits the airwaves this coming Labor Day weekend. The radiothon takes place from 6 am to 7 pm, Thursday, Aug. 30 through Saturday, Sept. 1. The station’s radio personalities including John “Cadillac” Saville and Marianne O'Hare from the 102.9 DRC-FM Morning Show will broadcast live from the medical center’s cafeteria. WFSB Channel 3 meteorologist Scot Haney also is scheduled to go live from the radiothon starting at 5 am for the Aug. 30 broadcast. Last year’s radiothon raised a record $205,275 which supports state-of-the-art care and research programs at CCMC. Included on the radiothon are dozens of heartwarming and inspirational interviews with patients, families and staff of the medical center.
