FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 29, 2008 "SCOTT JAMES, RN, MBA, OF CONNECTICUT CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER WINS PRESTIGIOUS CRITICAL CARE GROUND AWARD OF EXCELLENCE" HARTFORD, Conn.—Scott James, RN, MBA, administrative director of trauma and emergency care services at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, has been named the recipient of the 2008 Critical Care Ground Award of Excellence as presented by the Association of Air Medical Services. This national award, sponsored by Medbill Resources Corp, recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in a dedicated critical care ground program in any of the following areas: enhancing safety, education, leadership, and patient advocacy by developing or promoting improvement of patient care in the medical transport community. James was nominated for the award by two members of the medical center’s Transport Program; Linda Craib, RN and Thomas Ziemba, RN. James, a resident of Manchester, will receive his award at the Air Medical Transport Conference that takes place Oct. 20 in Minneapolis. “It is an honor to be recognized by the medical transport industry in this manner,” James said. “When you’re continually striving to pursue excellence, one can only hope that your actions have some degree of influence on others and the work that they are doing. This award is a sort of validation that people ‘get it,’ and that they do not accept the status quo.” In addition to his current role at Connecticut Children’s, James serves as president and lead consultant for Lifecare Systems of New England, LLC. He also has worked as the medical center’s trauma program manager and at Hartford Hospital as a flight nurse on LIFE STAR. James received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Maryland, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Hartford. |
